Museum in Hagerstown Magazine – Unique Places in Washington County

The Museum was mentioned in the Hagerstown Magazine article: Unique, Unusual and Downright Strange Places in Washington County in September 2023.

The Museum’s Story:

The Boonsborough Museum of History was established by Douglas Garns Bast (1937-2021).  Doug was the third generation family member to own and operate Bast of Boonsboro.  Founded as a cabinet shop in 1837 and evolved into a furniture store, it operated 174 years until Doug retired.  His real love, however, was the Boonsborough Museum of History which he founded out of a life-long love of history and operated for 46 years.
